CHAKMA'S RESISTANCE TO bRITISH RULE - RATAN LAL CHAKRABARTY - 2026

Long before British rule was firmly established in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Chakmas resisted the East India Company's attempts to impose revenue collection and extend its authority into the hills. Led by Sher Daulat Khan, Jan Baksh Khan and Ranu Khan, they used guerrilla tactics to challenge Company forces, disrupt revenue collection and defend their control over the region.
